Iceland

Travel Itinerary

Iceland is a place that feels like it’s from another planet—dramatic landscapes, thundering waterfalls, steaming geysers, and glaciers as far as the eye can see. One of the most fascinating things about Iceland is its extreme daylight hours: in the summer, the days stretch on forever with nearly 24 hours of sunlight, while in the winter, daylight is just a few precious hours, creating a mysterious, cozy atmosphere.

One more thing to love: Iceland consistently ranks as one of the safest countries in the world, making it a worry-free destination where you can truly relax and explore with peace of mind.

Summer in Iceland means endless exploration. Imagine driving through the famous Golden Circle route, which packs some of the country’s best natural wonders into just a few hours. Stop at Þingvellir National Park, where you can literally walk between two tectonic plates. Then on to the roaring Geysir geothermal area to witness the famous Strokkur geyser erupt every few minutes, shooting boiling water high into the sky. Finally, visit the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic sights, where water plunges down in two dramatic stages into a rugged canyon.

Tip: If you’re renting a car in Iceland, be sure to order an automatic transmission—stick shifts are way more common there and can be tricky if you’re not used to them!

Head south to explore the stunning South Coast where nature shows off even more. Visit the famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, with its towering basalt columns and roaring Atlantic waves. Don’t miss the two iconic waterfalls nearby: Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the cascading water, and Skógafoss, with its impressive 60-meter drop and often vivid rainbows. One of Iceland’s most magical experiences is a boat ride on the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Drift among huge floating icebergs, surrounded by icy blue glaciers and maybe even seals popping their heads up to say hello. Nearby, Diamond Beach glistens with chunks of glacier ice scattered across black volcanic sand—a surreal sight that feels like walking through a winter wonderland. The boat ride is a must—definitely book it in advance!

The lava tunnel was super cool too—exploring this underground volcanic cave felt like stepping into another world.

Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, is a cute and quirky city full of colorful houses, hip cafés, and interesting museums. It’s also home to the only kosher option on the island—Chabad of Iceland, where you can go for Shabbat meals and community.

Whether you visit in the endless light of summer or the mystical darkness of winter, Iceland offers unforgettable beauty and adventure at every turn.
